We all have different ways of visualizing the new world. One of the things I look forward to is being able to travel the Open Road whenever and wherever we want to in safety, everyone we meet being a brother or sister who will open their home to us and share their experiences, as well as the things they appreciate most about the real life. We have experienced foretastes of such blessings while visiting various parts of the world and being showered with love, trust, and generosity by brothers and sisters we had never met before. This collection of songs represents just the fringe of those future realities; we could go on and on about the multitudinous benefits of the new system not touched on here, including the removal of all racial and cultural barriers, the healing of all physical ailments, the countless resurrection experiences, the lack of stress so common today, the things we will find humorous and entertaining, and so on. There are probably enough topics for thousands more songs! So, while on this side of Armageddon we travel a narrow and cramped road, we picture ourselves on an Open Road in the new world experiencing everything paradise has to offer.

Surviving Armageddon will no doubt do wonders for those suffering from emotional pain in this system. But it is easily conceivable that, just as physical healing may be progressive, complete mental and emotional healing may take some time as well. (w10/15/67, pg 636, par 5) Every day will be brighter than the last for those overcoming painful memories, until such damage is finally gone completely! On the other hand, maybe Jehovah will miraculously heal those scars soon after Armageddon. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
